Submitting a report, complaint, or objection
You can contact the municipality for various reasons, such as submitting a report about public space, filing a complaint or making an objection. It is advisable to use the appropriate channel for your specific situation. Below, you will find the available options. In any case, you can always contact the municipality for general inquiries, comments, ideas, or compliments.
You can send an email to gemeente@ouder-amstel.nl.
Is there damage or litter in your neighborhood? A malfunctioning street lamp? Abandoned bikes in the park? Litter next to the trash bin? Loose pavement tiles? Dangerous traffic situations? Problems with the street's drainage? Overgrown weeds? Report it to the municipality. This is referred to as a public space report.
If you feel you have not been treated properly by someone from the municipality, you can file a complaint about the service. The municipality will then investigate what exactly happened. There is an official procedure for such complaints.
If you have experienced discrimination in Ouder-Amstel or have witnessed it happening to someone else, you can report it to the Discrimination Reporting Center Amsterdam Region.
The municipality makes decisions and plans regarding things like your benefits, permits, or subsidies. It may also involve the layout of your environment. If you disagree with such a decision, you can file an objection. There are rules for this, and you must file the objection within 6 weeks of the decision.
